What are the travelers in Bye Bye Birdie supposed to wear?

I need to get a costume for my small part in Bye Bye Birdie at my school, though I'm not sure what I need to wear. I just play the role of a traveler and I can't seem to find information on what the costume should look like. For anyone familiar with the play, help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
