Why should you clip a pet bird's wings?

It is ok to have them clipped, especially since they will grow back. I think you should get his wings clipped when you first have him, so then it will make it easier to train him. Also if you are planning on letting him fly later on then you must train him to fly to you on command, that is why you should clip his wings first and teach him step up. Then there will be less risk of him flying away, because if he flies out of the door and he knows the command step-up, you can say up and he will fly back in the door to you. It is even better for him and there is lots of benefits if you let him fly, I just reccommend training him with wings clipped, then after that never worry about clipping them again.
