Is it a good idea to get a parakeet?

I'd love to have a sweet little birdie but I have a cat and a guinea pig and I'm afraid I won't have enough time to spend with all my beautiful animals if I get another one. If I get one, will there be enough time in the day for me to spend with all my babies? (I am home pretty much all day every day because I'm 15 and school is out.)
